Born in Vietnam, raised in France, and educated in Switzerland, Singapore, and Japan, Khoi Dao now finds himself roaming the streets of Los Angeles as a voice-over actor. His years abroad have given him a treasure trove of life experiences from which he frequently draws whenever he performs behind the mic. Some have asked him, “Hey, Khoi, why would you give up an exciting life of travel for a career that keeps you glued to the congested nightmare that is LA?” In truth, Khoi’s adventures continue in the numerous fantasy worlds he’s gotten to explore as a voice actor for anime and video games.
His anime roles include the lead character, Rei Kiriyama, in Aniplex’s English dub of March Comes In Like A Lion. You may also have heard him in a handful of Netflix original anime series, such as B: The Beginning (as Brian Brandon), Fate/Apocrypha (as Flat Escardos), and Sword Gai (as Gai Ogata).
His video game roles include the main human character, Tim Goodman, in Pokémon’s Detective Pikachu, and the player character, Jack, in Mary Skelter: Nightmares.
In his spare time, Khoi enjoys playing the piano for his three cats, who comprise an inordinate proportion of his priorities. For more content related to Khoi’s cats, please feel free to follow him on Twitter at @KhoiDaoVO.
